Roberta Alessandrini was
born in Verona and graduated with distinction in Harp at the Benedetto Marcello
Conservatory in Venice under the guidance of Professor F. Bottino Rispoli.
After her graduation in Venice, she mastered her skills with Pierre Jamet, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche and Susan Mildonian. |

She won many awards in national
and international competitions, among which the first prize d'honneur à
l'hunanimitè at the Paris International Harp Competition in 1985 and,
in 1984, the Genoa Rietman National Competition.
After being a member of the Arena of Verona Orchestra, she started performing in concerts as a soloist. She was a guest in many Italian and European Festivals, where she performed in recitals, as a member of chamber orchestras as well as a soloist. As a soloist, she performed the most famous pieces for harp and orchestra (Mozart, Debussy, Händel, Ravel, etc.), playing together with important orchestras and ensembles, such as the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, The Sophia Soloists, the Esterhazy Orchestra, the Rosetum Orchestra of Milan, and the Zandonai Ensemble. On many occasions she performed Mozart's K299 Concert, together with famous flutists, like Giampaolo Pretto and Enzo Caroli. She is also interested in unusual pieces for harp and orchestra. In 1995 she recorded J.L. Dussek's, J.B. Krumpholtz's and G.Ch. Wagenseil's harp concertos with the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua for the Naxos label. In the year 2000 La Bottega Discantica records released another CD including some of the most important pieces of music for harp of the XIX and XX century repertoire. Her performances have also been broadcast live by RAI as well as by foreign broadcasting stations and she has received wide critical acclaim from various music journals, including the well-known American magazine Fanfare. Since 1993 she has been playing with flutist Gino Maini, First Flute in the Arena of Verona Orchestra. Together they founded the Duo Flhar. She is also playing with violinist Stefan Coles and with organist Paolo Delama. She was also Professor of Harp at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan until 1998, when she moved to the F.A. Bonporti Conservatory in Trento, where she presently teaches. Moreover, she has run some Master-level
courses in Harp and Chamber music with the harp for the Dino Ciani Music Association
of Domodossola, Italy, and she has been part of the selection committee in
important competitions, among which the "Rovere d'Oro", held in S. Bartolomeo
al Mare. She is presently teacher of Harp at the
Accademia Europea di Perfezionamento di Musica di Erba (Como).
She has transcribed harpiscord
works for harp and some of them have also been published. |
